Thanks, I really had a great time taking to him. We had so many of the same influences that it made the interview super easy.

Great interview. I was so happy to hear him shed light on his vision for the soundtrack, and learn a few things about his influences. I definitely want to check out the Miles Davis album with “Green Haze.” I love cool jazz.

But yeah — the game’s soundtrack really is incredible in a way no other game’s is. I’m so surprised how good it is every time it comes up on shuffle, and how evocative the music is. It could all be psychological, though, having to do with the countless hours I spent playing the game.

Thanks for reaching out to him, interviewing him, and sharing it with us.

Yeah, as soon as you hear, “Green Haze” you’ll be instantly transported the inspiration behind those jazz cuts on the soundtrack.

The SC3K soundtrack, particularly the jazz, is so good that I still listen to it daily. It’s the first jazz experience I’ve ever had, and since then I have listened to other jazz album including Miles Davis. While those are obviously brilliant jazz, they still don’t have the same place in my heart as the SC3K jazz.
    Thank you Jerry Martin!

I’m the same way. it was such a formative soundtrack for me, I still listen to it once a week in some fashion.
