He only knew one English word, ‘guitar’

This is an amazing story from a missionary using the Sunlight CD to share the Gospel around the world -Robert

Could you live in this city? It represents the darkness in people’s life. I can because I am where I’m supposed to be.

Praise for protection, and good health.

Praise for a warm, air tight apartment, and an air purifier,

Praise this day I didn’t need to go out.

Praise for the wind and sleet and then rain that clears the sky after a few days.

Praise for partners who pr@y and give. Thank you!

BlesSings and ThanksGiving

He only knew one English word, ‘guitar’–January 27, 2013*

As I got in the taxi to go home, at rush hour on a smoggy day, the young man began to talk about music before I did.  He likes to play the guitar, so thankfully I had with me a CD from Phoenix, Robert

Payne’s ‘Sunlight’.  Since this taxi driver wanted to play Heavy Metal, I gave him Robert’s CD which is Alternative Music in Rock and Roll and …easier for me to listen to too (I’m 70 years old).  It took an hour to get home, so we listened to the CD all the way.  I began to pr@y.

As each song started he would tell me how many guitars, or mandolin (actually a Banjo) or comment on the rhythms.

He’d say this song is good.  Because each song was in English, I told him the meaning of the song, example: “Drive”, this is about driving everywhere, here and there, going to many places but really wanting to return to G0d and ask HIM to guide his journeys because G0d is waiting for him..  For the song, “Saturday’s Gone”, I said Sunday is coming. We repent of our sin, we can ask G0d to change us….so I paraphrased Robert’s songs within my limited Hindi vocabulary.  “Red Letter Day”, I won’t turn back and go away from G0d.  It’s a red letter day to decide to follow Jesus.

He knew the name of Jehovah, so I gave him the plan of salvation bracelet from the Phoenix home schooling group.  It has the Plan of S@lvation written out in Hindi and I also gave him a book of John in his language.  As I left him, I told him I would pr@y for him and his daily travel through the city.  I left him beginning to read the book of John.  Pr@y for those who are hungry to hear G0d’s Word.
